I bought Winona in the Fall of 2001. She was my treat for
officially starting grad school and she was supposed to serve as a
backup to Molly.
She was a great old truck and over the years I made numerous
modifications to her, including:
- Installed bucket seats from a 1985 Mustang
- Installed Tuffy center console
- Installed Kenwood KMD-72 Minidisc player & speakers
- Patched the hole in her dash from a crappy radio install by her
P.O.
- Moved the switch for her off road lights to the dash
- Installed a lighter/power socket that matche her other knobs
- Installed a modified Duff floor shifter after the column shifter
egged out
-
After several years of enjoying her and working on her, I came to the
conclusion that I should sell Winona. It was tough, but I knew that I was never going to be as into off roading as I had
been in high school and that I'd much rather keep Psyche
around for whenever I did want to go. Also, Winona was a bit small for
me (when I installed the buckets I intentionally set the driver's side
seat about 6 inches back from the stock position and even that wasn't
quite enough) and she wasn't a pick-up truck. I might not need one
often, but it came up enough times that I'd rather keep Psyche for
that and the occasional off roading.
Furthermore, Winona was in great shape, she had just gotten a major
tune-up and brake work done and he paint was still good and the
graphics still looked nice. As much as I wanted to keep her, I knew
that she'd do better going to someone who could appreciate her and get
more use out of her.
So I listed her on eBay and she
sold. Wow, my first sucessful eBay
auction as a seller. What a trip.
